Balob Purchases New Desktop Computers for Students

Balob Teachers College as part of its ongoing program to upgrade its aging computers has purchased 23 HP Desktop Computers and accessories from Daltron on April 24th, 2009. These computers are for students use and will be installed in the second Computer Lab (see photo).

The College currently has two computer labs for students use. In 2010 the College plans to purchase more computers for the third Computer Lab. This room is currently being used as a Seminar Room.


Networking.

Morobe Schools need to communicate more and share ideas on matters relating to ICT and its implementation at the schools. Some of these strategies include:

• Forming an ICT Association which involves all ICT teachers in the Province.
• Holding regular in-services on wide range of ICT topics.
• Visit member schools to observe and learn how computers are used by students and teachers.

The College is privileged to have 5 visiting ICT Teachers from Lae Secondary School visiting the ICT Learning Center. The visitors were shown around the Student Labs and the Server Room.
